Being SunSmart is a simple and effective way to reduce your risk of developing skin cancer. With temperatures slowly but surely warming up and UV Index increasing, for best protection, the cancer council recommends a combination of sun protection measures:

  • Slip听on some sun-protective clothing that covers as much skin as possible.
  • Slop听on broad spectrum, water resistant SPF30 (or higher) sunscreen. Put it on 20 minutes before you go outdoors and every two hours afterwards. Sunscreen should never be used to extend the time you spend in the sun.
  • Slap on a hat听–听broad brim or legionnaire style to protect your face, head, neck and ears.
  • Seek听shade.
  • Slide听on some sunglasses 鈥 make sure they meet Australian Standards.

The College has provided听sunscreen听stations in various areas around the school for students to access.听We encourage all members of the College community to be sun safe.
